Sonnedix Secures €3.25 Billion in Landmark Refinancing Deals

Sonnedix, a global renewable energy producer with over 3.5 GW of operational capacity, has secured €3.25 billion through two major refinancing deals in Europe. These transactions, the largest in the company’s history, will support the expansion of Sonnedix’s renewable energy portfolio, including energy storage and hybrid projects.

In November, Sonnedix completed the first deal, securing around €750 million from CaixaBank to refinance its 197 MW asset portfolio in Spain, consolidating seven previous financings into a single loan.

In December, the company closed a €2.5 billion refinancing deal for a 1.1 GW portfolio across Spain, Italy, and France. This facility, provided by 15 commercial lenders and institutional investors, can be expanded to include new assets across Europe and the UK. Structured as a Green and Sustainability-Linked Loan, this agreement marks a key milestone for Sonnedix, offering financial flexibility to accelerate its growth. The deal was supported by Crédit Agricole CIB and Santander CIB as co-financial advisors, with legal counsel from A&O Shearman.

These refinancings will enable Sonnedix to further its development of wind, solar, and storage projects, as well as enhance its power marketing and hybridization strategies.
