Spain generated 46.4% of its electricity from renewable sources in August, according to preliminary figures from Spanish power grid operator Red Electrica de Espana (REE).
In July, renewables accounted for 46.2% of the country’s power generation mix.
The total output from Spain’s renewables rose by 14.8% year-on-year to 10,965 GWh in August, with solar photovoltaic plants leading the green mix for the third consecutive month, REE said.
The share of solar PV was 18.6%, while that of wind energy was 18.3%.
