Spain will provide a grant to North Macedonia's government for the study on integration of floating photovoltaic plants in the national irrigation network.
North Macedonia's ministry of agriculture, forestry and water economy informed that the grant of 765,158 euro ($837,805) will be provided.
The amount will be used for preparation of a technical study for the possibility of floating PV plants, North Macedonia's ministry of agriculture, forestry and water economy stated in a press release.
As per the authorities, the “grant will be provided as part of the EU's Recovery and Resilience Facility.”
It has been reported that the technical study would first identify suitable locations for floating photovoltaic installations. Later, it will involve a conceptual design, a feasibility study, as well as project proposals for the installation of floating photovoltaic plants, a local report mentioned.
