Spanish company Ignis to sell portfolio of solar projects of 380 MW


Spanish renewable energy company Ignis is all set to sell a portfolio of solar power projects. The portfolio has a combined capacity of 380 MW. It has been informed that this portfolio has a worth of around 300 million euros. To be noted, Ignis is partly owned by Egypt financial group EFG Hermes. A local report mentioned that Ignis picked investment bank Lazard for the project. According to the company, the solar power projects are likely to start generating power in late 2024 and early 2025. This comes at a time when Spain is attracting investors, from both home and foreign, to renewable energy projects. The Spanish government aims to achieve its targets on reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. With this target, renewable projects are rapidly growing, particularly solar projects. As per the local reports, renowned energy companies have been selling stakes or advanced projects to generate investment amounts for new projects.
