Tilt Renewables has received federal environmental approval for its Liverpool Range Wind Farm in New South Wales (NSW), marking a major milestone for the 1.3GW project. Once completed, the wind farm will provide enough energy to power up to 570,000 homes. The approval, granted under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act, brings the project one step closer to reality.
Tilt Renewables CEO Anthony Fowler highlighted the environmental impact, noting that the project will help prevent approximately 2.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually—equivalent to removing around 814,000 cars from the road.
The project, which has been refined through years of collaboration with landholders and the community, also received modifications approval from the NSW Government last year.
Once operational, the Liverpool Range Wind Farm is expected to create around 550 construction jobs and 40 ongoing operational positions. With a construction cost exceeding $2 billion, the project will also offer opportunities for local businesses and the surrounding region to participate.
