ENAGA Nasional Bhd (TNB) is supporting Malaysian city Ipoh to achieve its goal of becoming a smart and sustainable city by 2030.
The support comes in accordance with the company’s Sustainability Roadmap to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
For this, the company has built a strategic partnership with the Ipoh City Council (MBI) to supply energy efficiency products and services along with renewable energy solutions. A memorandum of understanding between TNB and MBI has already been signed to this effect.
According to the company, "it includes the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, smart LED street lighting, energy performance and monitoring system, electric vehicle charging ecosystem and smart meters", a local report mentioned.
“In line with the aspirations of the government, MBI intends to make Ipoh a low carbon city to implement those initiatives at all 154 local authorities nationwide,” Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, remarked.
