Trinity Energias Renováveis and IVI Energia Forge $600 Million Distributed Generation Asset Sale and Strategic Partnership in Brazil's Renewable Energy Sector


Trinity Energias Renováveis, a prominent player in the renewable energy sector, has entered into a significant agreement with IVI Energia, a subsidiary of global alternative asset manager Brookfield Asset Management. The deal, valued at over R$600 million, involves the sale of distributed generation assets and initiates a strategic partnership for the development of new projects in Brazil.


The transaction encompasses the purchase and development of 41 photovoltaic plants, with a combined capacity of over 110 MWp, spread across seven states: Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, Piauí, Ceará, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte, and Bahia. These plants are slated to be connected and operational by the beginning of 2025.


Trinity Energias Renováveis has committed more than R$450 million to investment in the development of these projects, underscoring its dedication to expanding its generation assets in both distributed and centralized modes. João Sanchez, Founder and CEO of Trinity, emphasized the company’s strong corporate governance, transparency, and values, highlighting its capability to develop high-quality generation assets.


The strategic partnership with IVI Energia and Brookfield signifies Trinity’s acceleration of its growth plans, positioning it to capitalize on emerging generation opportunities and attractive energy prices in the Brazilian market.

Dina Storch, General Director of the Renewable Energy and Transition division at Brookfield, expressed enthusiasm for the acquisition, affirming IVI’s commitment to investments supporting the energy transition and clean energy initiatives. This acquisition solidifies IVI’s position as one of the leading players in Brazil’s distributed generation market.


The partnership between Trinity Energias Renováveis and IVI Energia underscores the ongoing momentum in Brazil’s renewable energy sector, highlighting the country’s commitment to sustainable energy development and the transition towards clean energy solutions.
