Uganda's solar industry is poised for significant growth through a new partnership between the African Management Institute (AMI) and the Uganda Solar Energy Association (USEA). This collaboration is part of the Energy Access Talent Initiative (EATI) Programme, funded by UKAID, and aims to equip leaders and managers in the solar sector with the skills necessary to foster company growth and enhance energy access throughout Uganda.
Alvin Katto, Country Manager for AMI Uganda, highlighted the initiative's importance, stating, “This partnership aligns with our goal of building leadership capacity in high-growth sectors like clean energy. By empowering managers with practical skills, we are not only expanding energy access but also driving lasting change in Uganda’s energy landscape.”
Professor Robinah Nanyunja, CEO of USEA, shared her enthusiasm, noting, “We’re thrilled to provide this professional development opportunity to our members. The skills acquired through this programme will accelerate the growth of Uganda’s solar energy sector.”
Focusing on professional development and leadership, this partnership seeks to strengthen Uganda’s solar energy sector and support broader efforts to expand clean energy access across Africa.
