UL Solutions has been picked up as the certification partner for 350MW FEW Baltic 2 offshore wind farm.
UL Solutions has been selected by RWE Renewables to certify the design fundamentals.
The project will be constructed in the Polish Baltic Sea covering an area of 41 square kilometres.
According to the company, the certification will be done in accordance with the “provisions of the Maritime Safety Act and international IEC regulations and procedures.”
Project Director of the FEW Baltic 2 offshore wind farm at RWE Renewables Lukas Prietz was quoted, “By implementing the F.E.W. Baltic II project, we will significantly contribute to this positive change while accelerating domestic economic development through collaboration with Polish suppliers and subcontractors.”
Offshore wind farms are regarded as important factors to accelerate the energy transition.
Meanwhile, UL Solutions stated that this partnership with RWE could help advance the adoption of “safer and reliable wind energy.”
