Mrs. Ilina Radoslavova Stefanova, Programme Officer at the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), delivered a speech entitled “Delivering on the UAE Consensus: Tracking Progress.” She provided an update on global efforts to accelerate renewable energy deployment, highlighting the role of solar and storage in achieving decarbonization goals. Mrs. Stefanova addressed key challenges such as policy gaps, financing barriers, and the need for enhanced international cooperation to facilitate large-scale clean energy adoption.

Following this, Ms. Holly Hu, Principal Research Analyst at S&P Global, presented an analysis of “Global Solar PV Opportunities and Challenges in 2025.” She explored the growth potential of the solar industry, particularly in emerging markets with strong solar resources and increasing energy demand. She also highlighted ongoing challenges such as policy uncertainties, grid infrastructure limitations, and investment constraints, which must be addressed to ensure the continued expansion of solar power worldwide.

Dr. Zi Ouyang, President of Product and Solution R&D Center at JA Solar, delivered a compelling presentation on the “Synergistic Integration of Solar and Energy Storage in Global Decarbonization.” He discussed how the integration of solar and storage is essential for achieving energy independence and reducing carbon emissions. Dr. Ouyang introduced JA Solar’s latest advancements in high-efficiency solar modules, including TOPCon, HJT, and Tandem cell technologies, as well as energy storage solutions featuring liquid-cooled systems, fire safety enhancements, and intelligent control mechanisms. He also shared real-world case studies, such as the Inner Mongolia PV Sand Control Project, which integrates 200MW of solar power with a 60MW/120MWh energy storage system to significantly reduce carbon emissions, and the Yiwu Distributed PV + ESS Project, which has established a smart energy demonstration base.
