Vattenfall has acquired the German solar developer Solizer. The company has a pipeline of projects with a total capacity of 4GW across the country.
Vattenfall not just acquired the pipeline of projects, but also an experienced team. It has been informed that the first projects will be ready for construction by 2024.
According to the company, with this acquisition, Vattenfall’s solar development portfolio has reached 7GW in Germany.
It comes at a time when Germany is taken as a core market for Vattenfall’s solar development.
Vattenfall senior vice president and head of business area wind Helene Biström was quoted in a statement, “Solar is cost-competitive and can be built subsidy-free, which is important in meeting the rapidly increasing demand for low-cost solar power from customers.”
He further stated, “By adding Solizer's development projects and know-how to our portfolio, we continue on our renewables growth path.”
