Vietnam seeks Netherlands’s cooperation in green energy

Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has pledged support to the Netherlands for cooperation in renewable energy sector among others.

He said that the government is ready for all possible support to Dutch business firms for investment and works in Vietnam. He said so as the Netherlands is the biggest EU investor in Vietnam.

According to the local reports, Chinh suggested the VNO-NCW to continue serving as a bridge for Dutch firms to invest in Vietnam, especially in hi-tech and innovation, and green and clean energy.

Meanwhile, the Dutch side was in favor of enhancing economic, trade and investment ties in various fields including renewables.

On the occasion, the PM also stated that “Vietnam is pooling global support to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.”

With huge potential in wind and solar energy, Vietnam needs the support of the global community in capital, technology, workforce training, governance and institution building to fully tap the potential, he was quoted in a report.

In addition, he also urged the international partners for financing alternatives to develop renewable energy.
