Voltalia has commenced construction of the 19.7 MW Los Venados solar project in Colombia’s Tolima region.
The project, powered by over 33,000 solar panels, marks Voltalia’s debut in Colombia. With a 15-year contract dedicated to private sector buyers, Los Venados will generate clean energy for over 40,000 residents annually while avoiding approximately 23,000 tons of CO2 emissions each year. Commissioning is expected in Q1 2026.
Since entering Colombia in 2019, Voltalia has developed a pipeline exceeding 350 MW, recognizing the country’s significant potential for solar and wind energy expansion.
Robert Klein, CEO of Voltalia, commented: “We are proud to launch the construction of our first project in Colombia. We see potential in this market and are excited to explore new partnerships and projects, developed from greenfield opportunities in the geography”.
