White Summit Capital Closes First Round of €500M Decarbonisation Fund, Secures Over €350M in Commitments

White Summit Capital, a specialist in decarbonisation and energy security infrastructure, has successfully achieved the first close of its Luxembourg-based White Summit Capital Decarbonisation Infrastructure Fund II (WDIF-II). The fund has already surpassed 50% of its €500 million target, securing over €350 million in commitments from more than 10 prominent institutional investors. These include the European Investment Fund, global asset managers, insurance companies, family offices, and other institutional entities. A second close is planned for Q2 2025.

WDIF-II aims to bridge the funding gap in Europe’s energy transition and security sectors by investing in 8 to 10 middle-market infrastructure companies. These businesses, selected for their strong management and growth potential, will span three key areas where White Summit Capital has established expertise: Renewables Integration, Sustainable Transportation, and Industry Decarbonisation. The firm’s proven track record in energy infrastructure, greenfield development, industrial partnerships, and energy management will underpin these investments.

The urgent need for energy self-reliance and competitive access to sustainable resources in Europe provides favorable conditions for WDIF-II’s investment strategy. The fund is designed to help companies expand their asset base and unlock further growth and repurposing opportunities.

Gonzalo López Medina, Managing Partner, highlighted the synergy of energy transition and security in the fund’s target markets, stating: “WDIF-II is an ideal partner for industrial platforms seeking to scale. We’re seeing a strong pipeline of off-market mid-market opportunities, well-suited for institutional co-investments where White Summit Capital has significant expertise.”

Pablo Pallas, Managing Partner, emphasized the long-term potential: “Decarbonising our economy is both a necessity and a generational investment opportunity. This fund is designed to tackle this unquestionable long-term trend while offering our investors immediate robust and future-proof infrastructure investments.”

WDIF-II is managed by White Summit Capital Management S.G.E.I.C., S.A.U., an alternative investment fund manager authorized and regulated by the Spanish Securities Market Commission.
