Wind power has generated 16% power in August in Spain, according to the authorities. Wind power grew by 8.5% compared to the same month last year.
The generation of wind origin in August was 4,064 GWh accounting for 16% of the total.
Besides, photovoltaic contributed 12.5% while solar thermal did 2.6% and concentrated solar power generated 2.6% in August. Photovoltaic solar energy recorded 3,188 GWh.
Meanwhile, the demand for electricity in Spain has fallen by 2.3% last month. It is due to effects of labor and temperature.
As per the local report, 37% of electricity production in August was renewable while 57.8% did not emit CO2 equivalent.
As per the authorized data, the country has a demand of 22,077 GWh, which is slightly higher than that of August 2021.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that in the first eight months of 2022, demand is 1.8% lower than that registered in the previous year.
